Yutong Light-Duty has completed a real-world endurance test of its Shenxing T5 electric refrigerated truck on an 817 km round-trip route across western Sichuan in China. The run, carried out on July 7–8, took a 1.3-tonne cold-chain load from the Chengdu Plain at 500 meters elevation up to the Zheduo Mountain pass at 4,298 meters, then back, in roughly 20 hours. The vehicle operated three independent temperature zones throughout the journey, facing ambient swings from 36°C down to 8°C. On the outbound climb the truck averaged 2.76 km per kWh, with a stated per-kilometer operating cost of 0.37 yuan.

For fleet operators and cold-chain buyers, the test is of interest because it was conducted under full working conditions rather than on a closed track. The outbound leg was loaded with catering ingredients, ascending through Tianquan, Luding, and Kangding, and crossing 96 hairpin bends on the way to the Zheduo Mountain pass. The remaining core components are covered for 5 years or 500,000 km, compared with a typical industry benchmark of 2 years or 350,000 km.
